Travis here. Although I “write ads” for a living, I usually tend to agree with Owen’s shirt. But seeing how this is our first post, I think I need to give a little rationale on why we’re doing a blog…

I distinctly remember telling my mother in high school, “when I have a family, we’re never going to send out a Christmas letter telling friends and family every detail about our past year.”

And yet, here I am, setting myself up to do just that – on a much more frequent basis. Oh well. I guess that’s how having a wife and child changes you.

I can honestly say that I understand the joy that H.I. feels in “Raising Arizona” when he proudly shows his new – er, abducted – little boy “the divan!”, whereupon he sits down with his lovely wife, Ed (short for Edwina), and pronounces, “Are you kidding me?! We got us a family here!” (thus our title) It’s something you want to share with others.

So that’s what led to our blog. This is where we’ll share what’s been going on with us as a family, and individually. You’ll read about Emily’s adventures as a stay-at-home mom. You’ll be subjected to my opinions on movies and TV. And you better believe there will be no short supply of so-cute-you-wanna-puke pics of Owen.
