Emily and I have been pretty under the weather the past few days. We’ve had sore throats, congestion, and Em has had a fever. But it hasn’t kept us from completely functioning, which is nice seeing that my parents came to visit this weekend. We felt pretty awful this morning, but as you can probably imagine, the grandparents had NO problem babysitting while we recuperated.
Here’s my mom taking on dinner duty:

And my dad really getting into playing with Owen:

Owen got some fun Valentine’s Day presents from grandma and grandpa, too, including his first Mizzou Tigers hat. He wore it proudly (despite their pathetic loss to Texas A&M on Saturday; congrats to Aggies Kristy and Russell and my old Kanakuk co-counselor, Ryan). Here are some pics of the hat restin’ atop his big ole noggin.

Actually, in comparison to this video, his head’s not THAT big…
Oh man, bummer! Hope everybody is back up and at ‘em again soon.
And when you are…

Oh, and thanks for the basketball congrats! We were thinking about you guys (while we were beating the dog outta you). Hee. Just kidding. =)
Apparently I didn’t think much about my comment prior to making it. (Either that, or I’m just trying to get the award for Most Comments In A Single Post.)
We really WERE thinking about you guys during the game. The “just kidding” part of my last comment was a tad unclear.
And two, your mom looks so stinkin’ CUTE! (As does the top of your dad’s head.) Being grandparents obviously suits them!
Sorry you guys aren’t feeling well. How nice that your parents were there to help out! I’m sure they didn’t mind at all. Your mom couldn’t be beaming more in that picture! And the picture of your dad? Well, that’s just Classic Jeff. Getting right in there and being an interactive Grandpa. I love that picture!
love you guys!
Hey, thanks for the shout-out, guys! (Love the pictures.) As you know, we couldn’t have had more fun with our grandson, we’re just sorry you weren’t feeling up to par. But we will gladly make the 8 hour trip just about anytime to babysit, especially when we get the added bonus of Emily’s good cookin’ and hospitiality! It was great seeing all three of you, as always, and hope you are feelilng much better soon. We are both energized after our “Owen” fix! Thanks for everything!
I have never seen such a beautiful grandmother as Julie!! Now, Jeff, whatever. . . We want to see him at RMCC!!! When are you guys going to bring Owen and let us meet him. It has to be soon – I don’t want to look up at him the first time I meet him. He is a doll!!!
